We have countless beds. Countless. And still, the cat and the smalls? Someone is ALWAYS in this one. They love it.

I've spent decades in the pet industry caring for the well-being of just about every species, from reptiles and birds to small companion animals. Now I'm a spiritual introvert with a pack of rescue dogs, one high-maintenance Maltese, and one cat. So I know beds. And I know which ones actually get used.

For the cat and the smalls

AIWIKIDE Cuddler Bed, Small on Amazon

It's a round, fluffy little nest with a raised rim, about 17 inches across. You can machine wash it. Stevie and my small dogs take turns. Sometimes politely. πŸ’

The honest part: it's small, so it's best for cats and tiny dogs. Lots of reviewers say the sides get floppy and don't stay up. Some say it feels cheaply made. A few had seams come apart. It's soft, though. Everyone agrees on soft.

For the medium dogs

Love's cabin Round Donut Bed on Amazon

This is the one the med dogs like. My 25-pound dog curls up in the 20-inch size like a cinnamon roll and ignores the label completely. It's a donut bed with a raised rim for resting their heads, a non-slip bottom, and it goes in the washer on gentle. Over 13,000 ratings.

The honest part: Amazon lists the 20-inch for pets up to 11 pounds. Mine just happens to be a curler. If your dog sprawls, get a bigger bed. Reviews on durability are also mixed, and some people say the seams split after a wash. It comes vacuum-packed, so give it time to fluff up.

Real facts, no fluff
